Launching The Art of Banksy on London’s Regent Street

How we maintained the noise for the blockbuster exhibition following its previous success across the world

Following the success of the PR campaign for the Media City run of The Art of Banksy exhibition, Carousel was appointed to deliver the launch of the immersive art experience at its new home on Regent Street in London.

The major exhibition which has brought Banksy’s era defining works to over 1.5 million visitors in 15 cities across the globe is the world’s largest collection of original and authenticated Banksy art, showcasing more than 150 pieces. The blockbuster exhibition opened to the public in mid-September and is due to run in the capital until April 2024.

Banksy works at the Regent Street exhibition include the first ever Flower Thrower, Girl With Balloon in three different colour variations, Rude Copper and Mona Lisa - a previously unknown piece of art which was originally bought from the artist by a Hollywood A-list actor in 2003, and was earlier this year sold to a collector who has lent the piece to the Art of Banksy collection for a limited time only.

In September, we hosted an exclusive launch event for press and influencers to enjoy a first look at the exhibition. Guests were welcomed to enjoy an evening of food, drink and art and also had the chance to talk about the exhibition and some of the artwork first hand with its curator Michel Boersma.

To maintain the noise, the team worked with Secret London to execute a stunt across iconic London locations that brought some of Banksy’s most famous artworks to life. Footage from the stunt was posted on Secret London’s Instagram and has received over 355k and 5,700 likes to date.

The team has secured over 350 pieces of coverage for the campaign to date with an incredible reach of 3 billion. Highlight coverage so far includes BBC News, Time Out, The Independent and Daily Mail.
