Manchester Psych Fest Announce Stereolab, Tinariwen, Girl Band and Kokoroko

The UK’s most diverse psychedelic music festival is returning this year with a line up consisting of a host of the most exciting alternative artists.

Manchester Psych Fest, a a one-day event held across a number of venues in Manchester returns on the 4th September 2021. The festival is a celebration of psychedelic music in its full spectrum, expect a day filled with acts from all corners of the alternative music community.

Whether you want to describe them as Alt-Pop, Alt Rock, Psych Pop or Experimental Rock the underground hero headliners Stereolab will be bringing the noise with hypnotic rhythms ladened with upbeat pop melodies. Tickets are not on sale, you can get them here.

Formed in Dublin, the Post Punk/Noise Rock powerhouse of a group Girl Band will definitely get the crowds going. With hard-hitting drums, in your face guitars, huge basslines and strong vocals, Girl Band is going to take Manchester Psych Fest to the next level. Expect the unexpected with this band's wild stage presence.

Tinariwen, a North African collective of musicians who blend the complex polyrhythmic percussion stylings of traditional Saharan music with North American Blues and Folk Music also join the line-up.

Feted post-punk outfit Dry Cleaning, afrobeat eight-piece Kokoroko, Japanese psych veterans Kikagaku Moyo all join the bill along with Billy Nomates, Porridge Radio, Jadu Heart, Crack Cloud, Pins, Los Bitchos and The Mysterines.

Carousel has secured coverage in 27 titles for the first announcement including hits in NME, DIY, Riot, So Young and The Quietus.
