Woking Shopping celebrated the Woking Food and Drink festival last weekend as the centre of Woking was truly transformed into a one stop shop for foodies. With a plethora of stands selling everything from delicious gin to jerk chicken there was a taste for every pallet. And with captivating demonstrations from top chefs including Master Chef judge Monica Galleti and Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite on the Tante Marie stage in Jubilee Square visitors were treated to some industry secrets, great recipes and fun stories.
Excitement was heightened by the annual Woking Shopping Bake Off, this year the competition returned with the addition of a junior bake off category and with prizes up for grabs, 28 cakes were dropped at ChristChurch ready for judging. Scooping classes at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy Caron Moses won the title of Woking Shopping’s best baker with Lois Malbon picking up the title of Woking Shopping’s best junior baker.
