To mark Kimpton Clocktower’s incredible 130th anniversary, we were proud to lead a standout PR campaign that celebrated the history, the legacy and the people that make the Clocktower so special.
Our campaign centred on the launch of a new free public exhibition, ‘Clocking Manchester: 130 Years in the City’s Evolving Skyline’, hosted within Kimpton Clocktower, curated by the hotel team to explore the Refuge Assurance Building’s transformation over the past 130 years. The exhibition brought together rarely seen archive photographs, original architectural drawings, and fascinating personal stories from Mancunians whose lives have been shaped by the building, from hotel guests to former workers and local residents.
To build momentum around the launch, we hosted a press and influencer launch event at Refuge, giving the media and creators an exclusive first look. The evening brought together Manchester’s top-tier media, local influencers, and friends of Kimpton to celebrate the city landmark featuring live music, dance performances, guided building tours with award winning guide, Jonathon Schofield, and bespoke birthday cocktails.

Alongside the launch event, our hardworking press office was in full swing, drafting and distributing tailored press releases, pitching exclusives, and working with influencers to generate buzz online.
The campaign secured 25 pieces of media and social coverage, reaching over 3.6million people across key regional media titles including I Love Manchester, Manchester’s Finest, Manchester Confidentials, The Manc and Manchester World. Notably, 52% of the press coverage achieved 100% share of voice.
